Through our Culinary Internship Program, participants help our kitchen staff cook healthy, delicious meals for the AIM House community, and learn valuable vocational skills along the way.
Many of our participants come to us without a long work history, and our in-house internship program gives them the opportunity to build their resumes, develop references, and learn tangible skills in a professional environment, all while being mentored on their performance and receiving the full, individualized support that AIM House offers.
Every day, our talented team of culinary professionals prepares breakfast, lunch, and dinner for our participants and staff. Once they have applied and been accepted into the program, culinary interns commit to a schedule of hours for the week and receive a stipend for their work, assisting the chefs and learning foodservice basics like meal planning, inventory, preparation and cooking techniques, flavor building, safety, sanitation, and kitchen math.
In addition to these culinary positions at the Castle and Earl House, participants may apply for internships in facilities management and a wide range of creative pursuits, including design, photography, and music.
